On November 18, 1998 – Tupac’s greatest hits album was released with the backing of the major hit single “Changes“. It has been a year and a half since 2Pac’s death by drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1996.

In the wake of his death, fans of his here in Europe (Germany, Denmark, etc.), and North America (New York, Bakersfield, etc.), had all been looking for a replacement. We found a replacement in the dog from Yonkers, New York state, his name was DMX! And he was the living and breathing embodiment of a black man with a realness you couldn’t touch with a 10-foot pole without being shot to the dome!

In retrospect, DMX was 1000 times more real than the actor from Hollywood named Tupac Shakur Afeni. Why do I say such a thing? Well, because in his hit song “Hit Em Up” Tupac raps about killing little children!

Motherfucker, my .44 make sho’ all y’all kids don’t grow!

Tupac is not the hero he portrays himself to be so vigilantly. Although he was kissing children (Brenda’s Got A Baby) in his music videos, in his darkest moments he was talking about killing children! Black children!

DMX came along and had a “white vibe” due to his blood & gore and depression themes. That’s actually more real because Black African Americans suffer from the same problems of the SPIRIT as everybody does!

It was such a sad day when he died in the hospital last year! He was really turning his life around and he had a new wife. CHHM had a video of DMX rocking out with his new family, his beautiful family in the car just a few days prior to his untimely “death” yeah now he’s in heaven!

DMX was not political, “he was not racial“, he was not underground, he was not commercial, he was the black man personified. He was REAL!
